Seeking "Human Islands" in a shifting world
I have a growing feeling that real human interactions are becoming increasingly rare.
It makes me feel strangely nostalgic. I never truly experienced the blog era of the early 2000s, where people posted to start a discussion, to break their solitude, and to stimulate thoughts.
I believe deeply in these kinds of "islands." This is why Bear Blog feels so interesting: it’s a space where the "critical mass" is low enough to stay human. It’s not about an app crafting an artificial experience to intensify interactions for the sake of metrics. It’s more like a series of private corridors where people have enough intimacy to reach out organically (if they really want to). These interactions have meaning because they are voluntary, not suggested by an algorithm.
It’s quite strange, because I always wanted to publish on LinkedIn or Twitter to gain status in an industry. But I have to admit: simply having a space to share my reflections, away from the pressure of artificial engagement, is already a huge step for me.
